Community Power - Cheapest electricity deals

Community Power are a relatively new supplier to the Irish energy market having launched in November 2019. They provide a number of electricity plans for domestic customers. They are Ireland’s first community owned electricity supplier and are a partnership of community energy groups working together.

Community Power is made up of a partnership of community energy groups with a shared goal – to ensure Ireland has a sustainable energy future. It buys renewable electricity from some small hydro and wind generators across Ireland, and it’s sold for use in homes, businesses, farms and community buildings

Community Power – Fuel Mix

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) requires companies that supply electricity to customers disclose the sources they use to generate their energy each year. 

If suppliers choose not to make a declaration, they are allocated the residual fuel mix, which is the fuel mix left over from the All Island fuel mix after individual supplier’s fuel mixes have been calculated. For 2019, Community Power was allocated the residual fuel mix.
